ANGERS, France, received from the 13th to the 15th of January 2025, the International Exhibition of Plant Production Techniques (SIVAL). SIVAL is the only show in France to offer a complete, high-performance range of equipment and services for specialized plant production. Around 700 exhibitors and 25,000 trade visitors come every year.
During the SIVAL exhibition, ASTREDHOR, the French Institute for plant professionals, organised a conference about its involvement in European projects and Marie Baelen had the chance to present the project AdvisoryNetPest. For 15 minutes she presented the partners and the objectives of the project, the main tasks and the agenda. She made a focus on the methodology to identify and select novels approaches. Examples of novels approach identified in 2024 were explained. Attention was made on the added value for advisors and growers, as the intervention has been prepared in this way. It was important for ASTREDHOR to show to stakeholders the benefits of AdvisoryNetPest. So, Marie explained the importance of capturing the benefits of this project to pass on and disseminate innovations but also to be informed by the novels approaches within their sectors and to have access at case studies, to be trained and to explore other novel approaches on European partners sites. Finaly, Marie explained how data obtained with the project AdvisoryNetPest can be used to support the evolution of public policies.
As others European projects were presented during the conference, the lecturers had the occasion to exchange about their methodologies, their difficulties and the advantages of such projects. They all emphasized the importance to involve growers and trainers in the projects to be sure that the results will be useful and applied in the field or in advice services.
