The IPM Decisions platform was developed as part of the EU funded IPM Decisions project.
The platform makes decision support systems (DSS) for integrated pest management (IPM) more accessible to advisors and farmers, and was launched in September 2023. The platform provides the infrastructure needed to bring together weather data, pest forecast models, and other data into a single place, to be used anywhere in Europe.
The platform is free, and enables users to run any forecast model from anywhere in Europe for their location, and review the its limitations, assumptions, and guidance, to support effective decision making.
The platform was designed based on feedback from farmers, agronomists and other actors as part of over 36 workshops run across 12 countries between 2020 and 2023. Many of the DSS have been validated and demonstrated in specific regions, but are not yet widely consulted. Others require further validation in wider regions before they can be considered as reliable forecasts, e.g. if you consult a DSS developed outside of its region of development. The platform enables you to compare model outputs between models, locations, and (in some cases) between years.
