On 23 November 2023, the AdvisoryNetPEST project took part, along with the new advisory networks, OrganicAdviceNewtork and STRATUS, in the 2nd day of the Standing Committee on Agricultural Research (SCAR) Working Group on Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS) meeting organised by the European Commission’s DG AGRI.
This meeting brought together different topics such as “Policies for the Future of Farming and Food in the European Union: focus on innovation”, “Reflections on priority R&I actions to strengthen AKIS under Horizon Europe in 2025-2027”, and ways to strengthening advisory services, where it included the presentations of the new advisory networks.
The AdvisoryNetPEST – EU ADVISORY NETworks to reduce the use and risks of PESTicides was presented by its Coordinator Dina Lopes, Director of Research and Innovation at CONSULAI. Along with the othernew EU Advisory Networks, there was a fruitful discussion with the SCAR AKIS members about the AKIS role, good practices good practices on improving agrifood advisory services and what to expect from the new networks to strengthen these services.
