On March 28th, 2024, COPA-COGECA’s Research & Innovation Working Party convened a workshop at their Brussels headquarters, focusing on groundbreaking EU projects and fostering vital discussions on crucial topics for European farmers and agricultural cooperatives. The event was a platform for presenting innovative projects that addressed some of the most pressing challenges in agriculture, such as sustainability, data-driven decision-making, and pesticide reduction.
The workshop began with welcome remarks from Mr. Klaas Johan Osinga, Chair of the COPA-COGECA Working Party on Research and Innovation. After his introduction, presentations spotlighted key projects that exemplified the strides in European agricultural research and development.
The AdvisoryNetPEST project was one of the projects presented at the workshop. This project aims to enhance advisory services across the EU to reduce the use and risks of pesticides, aligning with the goals of the EU’s Farm to Fork Strategy. It was designed to foster knowledge sharing, develop a network of advisors, and promote innovative approaches that can be scaled up and replicated across Europe. The workshop provided an excellent opportunity for stakeholders to discuss the project’s potential impact and implementation strategies.
The event proved to be a significant gathering for those involved in European agriculture, offering a platform not just for exchanging ideas but also for cultivating partnerships that could drive future innovation in the sector.
